the Edge...

Lean back, take a few deep breaths and relax into the Unknown with this 2 minute poetry meditation:

Let me sit here, on the threshold of two worlds. Lost in the eloquence of silence.
— جلال‌الدین محمد رومی Rumi

From my position, this pandemic has been a period of deep introspection and inner movement. I have committed to a life of daily sadhana (practice), which has become a source of great stability in my personal life and created capacity to consider big questions like:

How do we address the roots of Fear and Confusion that fuel the complex social divisions, public health, environmental and humanitarian crises of our times?

How do we respond without fighting each other, hiding away or frantically striving to solve insurmountable challenges?

There is another option.

We can get right with the Unknown. We can lean into the Mystery. The burden we place on ourselves by assuming we are in control of things (politics, pandemics, climate change, one another) is crushing. Still, there is a powerful tenancy for us to grasp at reason, false power structures and false narratives. This tendency makes us vulnerable to the loudest voices and those who claim to have answers. Admitting to not-knowing is a radical response. Claiming a position of humility is powerful.

Getting right with the Unknown requires that we become quiet and receptive. From this position it is possible to sense that we are small parts of a much larger body. We can acknowledge our connection to something endlessly greater and more wonderful than we could imagine. Practicing reverence for Mystery daily offers relief, peace and inspires me to sing, dance and create!

With love,
Kirra
